Creating a Movie Poster

shown the name of the character as the title.
Stage 2: Through developing, planning and more brain-storming my second sketch; i thought of the idea to have two images of the same model but half & half to merge one image, one side would be beautiful as aposed to the other side- ruined, scratched, matted hair etc. I also come up with the idea to cut the name 'Moni' in two, the first two letters (Mo) in curly, pretty writing- next to the beautiful side face & (ni) in bold, distressed font, to relate to the image. I also changed the sub-title to confuse readers even more, '2 sides, 1 person?', i felt this would bring up a number of questions, for example, 'what side?, 'has she got an evil side' etc. Lastly for this sketch, i drew around the image in a square, to show the image in a 'Polaroid image'.
Stage 3: My final sketch, i stuck to the same idea of two different sides of my friend, (beautiful/ruined). This time i could actually draw a Polaroid image, where i then furthered my ideas onto the title. I draw the 2 & 1 big, resulting in the title being '21' with still the sub-titles but smaller next to it, so it looked like: '2sides1person' & also the 2 & 1 would be cut outs from newspapers.
Coicidently, from looking at some movie posters, i found the movie 'Sorority Row' which looks fairly similar to the effect & idea i'm looking for of the photograph layout & mysterious
Cinema Trip: Grown Ups
Wednesday 8th September
We went to the cinema to watch 'Grown Ups', a comedy film by Sony Pictures. It started off with five friends who winning their junior high basketball championship, after leaving school they all led different lives. Until their coach all them years ago who coached them for their championship died, where all of the five men now, meet again. They all lead very different lives, from Hollywood Agent to house father. They all reunite & do activities they did when they were younger. The film is a real fun, action, humorous film. Personally for me it is one of the funniest film's I've seen. It is a good story line & the end loops back to the beginning & history repeats itself, which i felt was very clever. All the choices from characters, story-line, script, for me was brilliant & i felt it was a very good, interesting film.

Television Adverts
Tuesday 7th September
Today with Simon in Media we talked about audiences/ socio-economic groupings in TV ads, we watched 4 examples of real television advertisements; Honda, Levi, H&M, Envirfone on YouTube. From thoroughly analysing them with notes, i began to put into consideration the audience & the target audience for the specific advert, also putting the socio-economic groupings, Pointing out the; social status, genre, sex & gender i thought about specific aspects the director would of put into consideration for their target audience. For example H&M was specifically for young girls in working class, as the model in the ad was a young female, in red dress & shoes, related to the H&M logo. Specifically I found every detail in an ad, small or big, are put their on purpose to target the audience & each advert has their individual content for their audience. For example, Honda (a popular car) portrays the car being fast, classy, for those who have more money. Where as Envirfone, for a wider audience has a wide range of different individuals in.
